What makes a supper club
A Wisconsin supper club is a dinner-only restaurant, often on a highway or a lake outside town, where the evening starts at the bar with a brandy old fashioned and goes on to a relish tray, prime rib or steak, and a Friday fish fry. Many are family-run for generations. There is no official definition; this list includes places that call themselves supper clubs or are widely known as one, such as on Ron Faiola's Wisconsin supper club list or Travel Wisconsin's supper club pages.
The 209 in numbers
144 of the 209 supper clubs also serve a Friday fish fry. 94 have a founding year we could verify, and 44 of those opened before 1950. The oldest on the list: Red Circle Inn in Nashotah (1848); Van Abel's of Hollandtown in Kaukauna (1848); Wilmot Stage Stop in Wilmot (1848); Timmer's Resort in West Bend (1864); Village Supper Club in Delavan (1882).
How the list was built: every supper club was checked against a 2025 or 2026 source, such as its own site with current menus or hours, a dated news story or its Travel Wisconsin listing. Places whose only trace was an old website, a parked domain or a Facebook page we could not read without logging in were left out, even when they may well be open. Nothing here comes from review sites. The order is by region and town, never by rating.
